This course will equip Christian women to offer One-Another care in their sphere of influence. Geared primarily toward the local church, the lessons dig in to common struggles that women and teens face, and how to apply the hope of the gospel to those struggles. Each lesson includes a look at One-Another Care in specific contexts, how to offer hope for a life struggle, a look at a One-Another passage, and an example of mentors in scripture.
Ellen writes from the perspective of a trained lay-counselor. The participant is given basic biblical tools to utilize as they engage in One-Another relationships.
"ONE-ANOTHER CARE" mentor training is for any Christian woman who desires to disciple others. All of the teaching is contained in this workbook. It is suitable for individuals to do on their own, or for groups to work through together. A leader does not need any special training to gather a group and study together.
The ultimate goal of this mentor training is to equip women for 1:1 mentoring relationships so that a culture of intentional discipleship spreads among women in the church. No matter how formal or informal a mentoring ministry is, this equipping will help women to learn tools that help them to biblically mentor in their sphere of influence.
The key emphasis is on two concepts:
1. How to think biblically
2. How to apply the gospel to daily life
These concepts are woven throughout each lesson. As women mentor others, they can approach whatever they do together, discuss together, and study together through a biblical gospel lens.
This is an intergenerational training course. All adult ages are encouraged to participate. Everyone is both an older woman and a younger woman!
Upon completion of the course, the participants can use what they learn in order to engage in relationships that happen organically and naturally in their sphere of influence. And/or, a church might choose to develop a team of trained mentors to come alongside others in a more official way. It’s up to you!
Formerly called "Life on Life, Applying the One-Anothers of Scripture", this revision is a workbook-only format (no videos).
